Katelyn Bell

Kate Bell is a supervisory auditor within the Business Operations Directorate in the Environmental Protection Agency Office of Inspector General. Kate’s audit team provides oversight of the EPA’s business operations and processes including management and administration of contracts and grants and mandatory payment integrity audits. She has 16 years of federal auditing experience including approximately 6 years working with the U.S. Insular Islands. She has been with the EPA OIG for 2 years.

Kate started her federal career with the Defense Contract Audit Agency before moving to the U.S. Department of the Interior Office of Inspector General in 2018. At the DOI OIG, Kate became involved in the Insular Area Capacity Building program where she assisted with planning and coordinating training and assistance to the U.S. Insular Islands Offices of the Public Auditors. While at DOI OIG, Kate reported on the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act funding that was provided to American Samoa, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Mariana Islands.

Kate holds bachelor’s degrees in accounting and business administration from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania and is working towards her master of public policy and administration from the Colorado State University. She is a certified fraud examiner.
